In our clinic we focus on what is referred to as Three Distinct Phases of Healing. Similar to an iceberg, these phases are: Acute (top of iceberg), Corrective (middle of iceberg) and Wellness Care (bottom of iceberg). The following is a brief explanation of each.
- Acute Care
In acute care, the top of the iceberg, symptoms of any sort have manifested. These symptoms are the last to appear in our bodies and can be the first to leave as the body heals. Intensity of symptoms, due to disorganization of the electric field and brain/body biochemistry may be severe. Our goal in this practice is not to treat, judge, compete with or treat symptoms. As the body/mind field becomes unstuck and more flexible, symptom intensity reduces. Our body awareness’s are o longer needed or necessary. In our clinic, the words symptom and body awareness are the same.
The acute phase usually lasts 4 to 8 weeks, depending upon individuals and their health history. Mild detoxification with supplements may speed this process. Consistency of care is most important in this phase, as body memory patterns begin to change.
- Corrective Care
Corrective care is the middle of the iceberg. In this phase, we are addressing deeper roots of cause. It is only initiated after acute care is completed and re-examination is performed. The body/mind is more open to correction of patterns, habits, etc. that caused symptoms to be necessary. Specific nutritional support from the health survey, dietary changes, homework from the heart and exercises all become important in the corrective phase of care. Typically this phase lasts 4 to 8 weeks. Less Chiropractic care is needed. In cases of adrenal exhaustion, this phase can last 6 months to a year. The patient becomes personally aware and responsible for their health and healing. Symptomology is greatly reduced below a #5. On our scale (0 to 10), 0 is no awareness or symptom and 10 is unbearable discomfort.
Clients in corrective care attend classes, read suggested books and generally make lifestyle changes willingly.
- Wellness Care
Wellness care is the bottom of the iceberg. Persons in this place of care have little or no symptoms. They know and practice healthy living habits and thoughts. On average, patients in wellness care come in for adjustments once a month, or every 6 weeks, for a tune up. We address current or deeper areas of imbalance before they manifest as a physical symptom. Health assurance is maintained. Self-monitoring of urine/saliva pH is commonly done here. If a new stress or old habits occur, patients will increase their adjustments temporarily, until they know they are back on track.
Health, Wholeness and Wellness are attainable. The choice is yours. We are here to serve.
