The university of North Carolina at Chapel Hill has research that suggest the biggest contributing factor to inflammation, obesity, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, etc… is? You guessed it: Junk food.
While studying rodents they found that the group that consumed junk food lead to weight gain, high blood pressure, high blood sugar & high cholesterol due to the metabolites of inflammation.
I know what they have in mind. They’re going to come up with a medication to block inflammatory pathways, which is a natural body response to any type of irritation. They have already done this with NSAIDS which have heart attacks, stroke, cancer and type II diabetes as side effects. Look at the warning recommendations for Celebrex and other NSAIDS etc…
Wouldn’t it be a more logical decision to locate the contributing factors of inflammation and eliminate these choices/habits? Then there would be no need for inflammation.
